Develop detailed design documentation that outlines the full scope of work, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) that clearly articulate the scope of work for prospective bidders, facilitating an efficient bidding process. Engage in discussions and meetings with contractors and stakeholders, including property management firms, building proprietors, and facility personnel. Organize and lead meetings throughout project timelines to guarantee successful project outcomes.Leverage prior experience and expertise in construction regulations to assist colleagues in ensuring that existing MEP systems comply with standards and that proposed upgrades are implemented effectively.
Contribute to the design review process by applying extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and construction codes. Aid in the upkeep and enhancement of existing analytical tools and design methodologies. This position necessitates regular travel to client locations within the metropolitan area.Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field or a similar role.
Specialized Skills:
(1) Three years of experience in ongoing design and project oversight concerning building MEP system enhancements
(2) Knowledge of energy efficiency principles
(3) Proficiency in HVAC systems
(4) Familiarity with renewable energy technologies
(5) Competence in Autodesk AutoCAD
(6) Understanding of local building regulations
(7) Experience with special and progress inspections
(8) Ability to conduct energy code assessments
(9) Proficient in calculating heating, cooling, and domestic hot water (DHW) loads using approved methodologies and software
(10) Experience in selecting heating and cooling DHW equipment for both commercial and residential properties, including multifamily units. Any combination of education, training, and experience that meets these criteria is acceptable.
