Position Overview:

As a Senior Land Surveyor working with our team, you will play a key role in leading surveying projects, overseeing survey teams, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of survey data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage land surveying projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee successful boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking in accordance with project requirements.
  • Review and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and easements.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex surveying issues and offer solutions to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Supervise and mentor surveying team members, including Survey Party Chiefs, CAD Technicians, and Survey Technicians.
  • Oversee the preparation of survey deliverables, including plats, maps, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and expectations.
  • Ensure the quality control of survey data, including the review of field notes, sketches, and calculations.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, regulations, and emerging technologies in land surveying.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all surveying activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in NY
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Industry.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in the use of surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and local regulations and surveying standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
