Job Summary:

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physical therapy services to patients, promoting their independence and improving their overall well-being.

About the Role:

  • You will assess patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs, and develop personalized treatment plans to address these needs.
  • As a Physical Therapist, you will provide hands-on physical therapy treatments, instruct patients in proper exercises and techniques, and educate them on how to manage their conditions.
  • You will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and refer patients to specialists as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities, identify areas for improvement, and develop tailored treatment plans to achieve their goals.
  2. Exercise and Education: Teach patients correct exercise techniques, demonstrate proper use of assistive devices, and provide education on managing their conditions.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication with patients and families.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • You must have a Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • A valid New York State Physical Therapy license is required.
  • CPR certification is also necessary.
  • Prior experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred but not required.
