As a leading institution in the field of Kinesiology, we are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for successful careers in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Teach "Introduction to Biomechanics" (KINE 355) in a face-to-face mode on the Science and Technology campus in Manassas, VA, accompanied by the university Learning Management System and Canvas;
- Instruct four laboratory activities, in-class activities, and deliver lectures focused on content from Biomechanics of Sport and Exercise, by Peter McGinnis;
- Provide quality instruction and responsive feedback to guide student growth, while receiving instructional and mentoring support from faculty.
Requirements:
- Master's or doctorate degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a related field;
- Comprehension of biomechanical methodologies to assess and improve performance, training, rehabilitation, and injury prevention;
- Knowledge of linear and angular kinematics and kinetics to evaluate human movement;
- Familiarity of equipment and techniques for quantitative assessment, including motion capture systems and force plates;
- Ability to evaluate exercise mechanics to optimize body function and prevent injuries;
- Ability to apply biomechanical principles to practical situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- University teaching experience;
- Knowledge of Blackboard, Canvas or other learning management systems;
- Evidence of successful teaching a similar course.
