About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiologic Technologist PRN to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System Inc. As a Radiologic Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring indirect supervision of technical detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiographic equipment according to equipment specifications and produce quality radiographs.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety practices.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain processors, diagnose processing problems, and take appropriate action.
  • Follow good radiation safety practices, including coning, shielding, and film badge monitoring.
  • Produce quality images consistently within established protocols.
  • Maintain patient records according to department procedure.
  • Knowledge of appropriate use of contrast media, including consent forms, type, quantity, and complications.
  • Properly assess patients according to exam ordered, with appropriate documentation.
  • Provide patient education pertinent to the exam being performed and document in patient records.
  • Comply with RIS standards, including order, arrive, start, complete, cancel, record complications, IV infiltrate documentation, drug history, repeats, complaints, and transfers.
  • Meet productivity standards as defined by the department.
  • Perform non-technical duties as assigned, including stock rooms, transport patients, and clean cassettes.
  • Attend department meetings and participate in training of new staff.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Actively enrolled in and in good standing in an ARRT-accredited Radiography program and have completed 2 semesters of that program.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills necessary to operate computer systems used on the unit and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with others.
