Role Purpose:

As a vital part of the food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that customer products arrive safely and on time. They represent our company and build lasting relationships with clients.

In the role of Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to designated shuttle yard locations. This position involves driving tandem trailers, tractor-trailers, and/or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate communication. As a team member, you will contribute to the department and organization as needed and perform any assigned duties to support the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Report any safety concerns or required repairs.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies, reporting hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all required route documentation is available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures following safety protocols.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
  • Secure all equipment and freight appropriately.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns for processing at the base facility.
  • Unload equipment and materials as required.
  • Maintain a daily record of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the vehicle and loading dock area.
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience driving tractor trailers.
  • Valid CDL A License.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Ability to work a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday – Thursday nights.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Able to lift and utilize equipment to move product cases weighing between 60 to 90 pounds.
