Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily organization and supervision of all drug distribution activities in the hospital, including involvement in clinical endeavors. The Pharmacist will review and validate medication orders for safe medication use, act as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel, and compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.
Responsibilities
- Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of California is required.
- One (1) year of Pharmacy experience, preferably in an institutional setting, or completion of a residency in institutional pharmacy practice or a Pharm D degree is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Automated pharmacy systems, including electronic order entry, barcoding, automated medication dispensing, point of care medication administration, barcoding, and electronic documentation, are preferred.
- Aseptic technique and use of the IV Laminar Flow Hood are preferred.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will work variable morning, evening, or night shifts, with a base pay of $81.00 per hour.
