Job Summary

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Mathematics Department at California State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching lower-division mathematics courses, including Precalculus Algebra, Precalculus Trigonometry, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Calculus for the Life Sciences I, Calculus for the Life Sciences II, Calculus for Architecture and Construction Management, Calculus for Business and Economics, Calculus IV, and Linear Analysis I.

Responsibilities
  • Teach lower-division mathematics courses, including Precalculus Algebra, Precalculus Trigonometry, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Calculus for the Life Sciences I, Calculus for the Life Sciences II, Calculus for Architecture and Construction Management, Calculus for Business and Economics, Calculus IV, and Linear Analysis I.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline, such as Physical Science or Engineering.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the collegiate level, especially Calculus and/or Differential Equations.
  • Doctoral degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline, such as Physical Science or Engineering, is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, temporary position. Appointments from the part-time pool are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on short notice.
