EEG Technologist

South Shore Health is seeking a skilled EEG Technologist to join our Neurosensory Diagnostic team. As an EEG Technologist, you will be responsible for performing neurophysiological recordings on patients from neonates to geriatric, including cerebral silence and intraoperative EEGs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform EEGs on a range of patients, ensuring all testing is done according to departmental policy.
2. Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, laboratory staff, physicians, and other hospital staff.
3. Prepare patients for testing, apply biopotential electrodes, and document placement.
4. Perform intraoperative EEGs, noting ischemic occurrences.
5. Calibrate, evaluate, and adjust instruments.
6. Remove electrodes, clean patients as needed, and maintain equipment and testing rooms.
7. Recognize abnormal sleep, respiratory, and cardiac patterns.
8. Identify and correct artifact.
9. Possess knowledge of patient emergency situations and ensure patient safety.
10. Log tests, fill out charge documents, and accurately file records and reports.
Requirements
1. Graduate of an approved Allied Health program.
2. Minimum one year experience with neurodiagnostic studies.
3. Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) or Eligible.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
