Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in the Neonatal ICU. As a key member of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to the organization's vision and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of patient care services and collaborate with subject matter experts to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Texas RN license or compact license accepted.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NTD Cardiac Stable Module must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • STABLE must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
  • At least two years of Level IV NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.
