Salary InformationThe estimated salary for this position is $ $120,000-$150,000 per year, based on an 8-hour shift and 40 hours of work per week. This includes tax-free stipends that will be determined upon confirmation.
About the JobWe're seeking highly skilled Operating Room RNs with recent acute care experience in circulating, scrubbing, or first assisting roles. As an OR Travel Nurse, you'll play a crucial role in assisting physicians and medical staff during surgeries, providing pre- and post-surgery care, and educating patients on managing their medication and home care needs.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing basic bedside care
- Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
- Serving as a communication liaison between patients' family members and operating team members
- Ensuring the correct procedure is being performed on the correct patient
- Initiating patient education plans as prescribed by physicians
In addition to these duties, Circulating OR Nurses may also respond to comfort and safety needs, accurately handle specimens, monitor equipment used during surgery, and inventory surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
Scrub OR Nurses may select and handle surgical instruments and supplies, inventory surgical items, and assist with specimen handling. RN First Assistants may assist physicians with direct surgical care, help control bleeding, suture patients following surgery, and perform other tasks as needed.
This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, bending, leaning, and stooping without difficulty. You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, with occasional heavy lifting required.
To succeed in this position, you'll need the following skills and qualifications:
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Recent acute care experience (1-2 years) as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant
