Job Summary:
SJ Technologies is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including circulating air and chilled water air conditioning systems, high, medium, and low temperature refrigeration systems, and total environmental control systems.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including positioning compressors, motors, condensers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, evaporators, heaters, and other components in accordance with design specifications.
- Install and connect auxiliary control mechanisms and piping or tubing, and connect recording and gauging devices.
- Charge refrigeration systems and test installation for leaks, and start unit and adjust it for proper operation and optimum performance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions.
- Ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble units such as pumps, compressors, chillers, evaporators, condensers, and motors.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- EPA Certification required.
- CPR Certification required.
- Valid Drivers License required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times, if a heavier lift is required, it must not be attempted without assistance.
- Must be able to work at a rapid pace for a short period of time.
- Occasionally required to perform work by stooping, bending, and reaching while in cramped and uncomfortable positions and by walking, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds to perform work at various heights.
