About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Specialist to join our team at Liberty Resources. As a key member of our Crisis Intervention team, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health and wellness coaching, relapse prevention planning, and wellness activities to support individuals in crisis.
  • Work closely with Health Homes, hospitals, and treatment providers to develop integrated plans of care.
  • Offer advocacy, supportive counseling, and referral and linkage services as needed.
  • Provide recovery-oriented services incorporating Need Adapted Treatment and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Ensure timely completion of required documentation and adhere to program standards.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 1-3 years of relevant experience working with individuals with mental health or chemical dependency disorders.
  • Student or intern within a DOH-approved NYS education department program, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Counselor (CASAC) also qualify.
  • Work experience in a behavioral health or related setting preferred, preferably using the recovery model.
  • A respect for and high level of comfort around people experiencing psychiatric crisis.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills to create a recovery-promoting environment.
