Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Therapist I to provide high-quality treatment interventions to patients, facilitating therapeutic change and improving or maintaining their psychological, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, social, and physical functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and therapy sessions to promote patients' recovery and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on mental health topics and treatment options.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with established protocols.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Music Therapy or Recreation Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current professional certification or certification obtained within 6 months.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting, particularly with older adults and individuals with mental illness.
