We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Nurse to join our team at Raleigh General Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
Key Responsibilities- Provide critical intensive care to medical and surgical patients, including cardiac patients as needed.
- Assist with therapies such as vasoactive drug administration, anti-arrhythmic drug administration, thrombolytic therapy, and ventilator support.
- Monitor and manage Swan-Ganz, central venous pressure, arterial lines, electrocardiogram, and bedside glucose monitoring, parenteral and enteral nutritional support, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), peritoneal dialysis, and acute hemodialysis performed by a hemodialysis nurse.
- Assist unit, patient, and staff, and plan for meeting the needs of the patient, staff, physicians, and hospital.
- Perform management duties for units under their supervision, evaluate the assessment, planning, and intervention process, and demonstrate professional and personal development.
- Deliver direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served.
- Graduate of a program in discipline.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months.
- TNCC - to be obtained within 6 months.
- PALS - to be obtained within 6 months.
