Position Overview

The Emergency Medicine Physician plays a vital role within the emergency department medical management team. This healthcare professional is equipped with advanced education and training in emergency medical services and operates under the supervision of a licensed physician.

The Physician Assistant is guided by established protocols and collaborates closely with the supervising physician to ensure optimal patient care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive medical care in emergency situations.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical and emotional conditions.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for diverse patient demographics, including adults, adolescents, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
  • Utilize medical technology and software, including proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatments.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Licensure: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in California, along with Board Certification from the NCCPA. A valid DEA license for schedule II drugs is also required, along with current AHA or equivalent certifications in ACLS and BLS.

Experience: Previous experience as a Physician Assistant is essential.


Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to assess patients' needs effectively and provide tailored care. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are necessary. Familiarity with Cerner is preferred.


Physical Requirements

Attendance is crucial for this role. The physical demands include standing, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.


Compensation and Benefits

The hourly salary for this position ranges from $82.00 to a maximum of $100.80, based on experience. Comprehensive benefits are available for both full-time and part-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a tax-deferred 403b plan with matching contributions, life insurance, and more.
