SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Nurse to join our team. As a Medical-Surgical Nurse, you will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized patient care, assessing and addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Monitor and report patient vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition, communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to educate them on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with a current RN license in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with the ability to obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients, with or without assistance, as needed.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the unit.
