Overview:

The Communications and Marketing Specialist is tasked with overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of the organization's digital presence and social media initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing the JCC's brand reputation and fostering positive public engagement through effective external communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Marketing Director and team to establish both short-term and long-term objectives aligned with the agency's mission and operational framework.
  • Develops and analyzes performance metrics for all digital platforms to meet strategic targets.
  • Enhances workflow processes within the Marketing Department to ensure seamless integration with the agency's data management systems.
  • Prepares press materials, including releases, pitches, and media summaries, ensuring alignment with brand messaging.
  • Assists in the upkeep of the agency's websites, ensuring content remains relevant and engaging.
  • Oversees and engages with all social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and blogs.
  • Enhances online visibility and devises innovative strategies to drive traffic to digital assets.
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with media contacts, while monitoring media coverage to inform future outreach efforts.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of Public Relations initiatives using established metrics and reporting methods.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a nonprofit or community-focused organization.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The role may involve lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

Supervision:

May oversee part-time staff.
