We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at WVU Medicine. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our anesthesia department, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our licensed anesthesia care providers.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and maintain anesthesia equipment, including IVs, fluid warmers, and pressure transducers.
- Assist with line placement and intubations, and perform select Point of Care tests.
- Ensure proper disposal of one-time use items and maintain aseptic technique.
- Stock and maintain anesthesia carts, and transport mobile cart's medication tray to and from Pharmacy.
- Perform quality controls for Point of Care testing devices and maintain equipment repair log and equipment loaner book.
- Provide information for budget preparation regarding needed equipment and supplies, and facilitate cost-initiatives.
- Assist with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and perform core duties of anesthesia care assistant.
- Associate Degree from Anesthesiology Technology Program, or Associate Degree in Medical Assisting with National Certification as a CMA, or High School Diploma or Equivalent with Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, or Veterinary Technician experience.
- Current Licensure in applicable discipline, and certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- One year of nursing assistant and/or patient care experience.
