Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify cardiovascular issues and develop individualized care plans.
  • Recognize and respond to physiological changes post-cardiothoracic surgery, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding cardiovascular health and disease management.
  • Act promptly during emergency situations, adhering to established protocols for Code 99 alerts.
  • Engage in community outreach by providing cardiac health education.

Nursing Interventions Include:
  • Initiation of lidocaine and atropine protocols.
  • Defibrillation procedures.
  • Post-procedural care for patients following coronary angioplasty.

Equipment Utilization:
  • Mechanical ventilators.
  • Intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  • Pacemakers.
  • Cardiorespiratory monitors.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of telemetry nursing experience.
