Job Title: Crisis Therapist/Evaluator Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's Degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, psychiatric nursing, or art therapy from an accredited institution. Additionally, you must hold a certificate or license to practice a mental health discipline and meet all requirements of the respective board. You will also be required to submit to and pass a criminal record check and a drug screening test. Hours: This position requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm, with the possibility of additional hours as needed. Job Summary: The Crisis Therapist/Evaluator is responsible for providing crisis assessments for consumers walking into the office in a mental health crisis, voluntary hospitalization evaluations, jail triage assessments, and involuntary hospitalization evaluations (if qualified). Key Responsibilities: • Assess consumers who present to CRBH offices in a mental health crisis to determine the appropriate level of care. • Assess persons in local hospitals requesting voluntary hospitalization due to a mental health crisis for the appropriate level of care. • Provide jail triage evaluations within the required timeframes. • If a Qualified Mental Health Professional, provide involuntary hospitalization evaluations as required by law. • Provide crisis counseling to consumers at the Crisis Hub or the Wheelhouse, as needed and requested. • Attend staff meetings. • Provide care based on ethical concepts, adhering to established standards of practice and engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionalism. • Refrain from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position. • Respond to emergency situations in a timely fashion. • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other team members, as part of a multidisciplinary team, and independently, when necessary. • Other duties may be assigned when necessary. Work Environment: This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is mild to moderate. Environmental Data and Job Hazards: • Hours of work are structured into 7.5 or 8.0 hour blocks of time but may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands. • Position may require duties to include routine or reasonable anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials. • All staff are required to participate in yearly trainings regarding infection control and safety in the environment, including hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens. • All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence, or other escalating and potential dangerous situations, including when police need to be summoned.
