Job Summary

Directs activities of workers and sub-contractors on projects conducting disaster recovery and debris removal.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plans and coordinates project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to contract terms.
  • Orders procurement of tools and materials to support work schedules.
  • Directs personnel and subcontractors to execute work procedures on-site and coordinates various phases to prevent delays.
  • Resolves complaints and grievances within the workforce through collaboration with supervisory personnel and labor representatives.
  • Collaborates with Project Management and inspectors to resolve problems and improve methods.
  • Monitors work to ensure adherence to contract terms and schedules.
  • Prepares or reviews daily reports on progress, materials/labor, debris hauled, used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
  • Supervises a team of 5 or more employees in the field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in a Superintendent or similar role in field/disaster recovery and/or construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Travel flexibility.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including, Excel, Word, and Access.

  • Prior experience at the Superintendent level on Disaster Recovery projects with a high volume of varied debris removal.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

May vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
