As a Registered Nurse with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. This role requires a strong understanding of nursing principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate patient data using electronic medical records to support decision-making and improve patient care.
- Assist with or perform exams and procedures, documenting interventions in electronic medical records.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current issues and treatment modalities.
- Prepare and operate necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Administer or assist with medication administration, ensuring compliance with documentation and security procedures.
- Provide direct therapeutic interaction and care for patients in the outpatient setting.
- Comply with TTUHSC policy and security procedures, including necessary paperwork.
- Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team process.
- Demonstrate an understanding of mental illness and correctional managed healthcare.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have a current RN license in the State of Texas or be able to transfer your license to Texas. You should also have graduated from an approved accredited nursing program and be able to pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on the first attempt. No experience is required, but a strong understanding of nursing principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential.
