Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary owner of strategic sourcing and procurement for both technical and non-technical components.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals, enhancing profitability through cost reductions, rebates, and volume discounts.
- Foster innovation and improve service levels to enhance operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
- Plan and procure necessary materials to support production schedules and various forecasting needs.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and initiate purchase orders for New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Monitor and manage the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) metric to meet established targets.
- Formulate strategies for multiple sourcing initiatives, optimizing supplier count while leveraging common suppliers.
- Identify and pursue cost reduction opportunities.
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to continuously enhance the sourcing process.
- Maintain and update daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including spend analysis by supplier, PPV, On-Time Delivery, and anticipated deliveries.
- Engage in supplier evaluations and site visits to assess performance and nurture constructive business relationships.
- Coordinate with both domestic and international suppliers to ensure adherence to scheduled delivery dates.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing budget limits and track all cost variances in accordance with MediView policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Engage with Accounting, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Engineering teams effectively.
- Adhere to environmental and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with U.S. laws and Trade Compliance.
- Uphold safety and corporate standards regarding business ethics.
- Ensure the accuracy of item data, including cost, lead-time, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), and revision levels.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, procurement, and supply chain management is required.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (AS4000, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is preferred.
- Logistics experience with UPS, FedEx, LTL, and international shipping is advantageous, along with an understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
- APICS certification is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Willingness to travel 20-30% of the time, including potential overnight stays.
- Experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven startup environment where adaptability is essential.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves various physical activities, including sitting, standing, lifting, carrying, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pulling, and pushing. The ability to move and/or lift up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Frequent use of computers and telephones is expected, and travel (both domestic and international) may be necessary. Work hours may occasionally exceed standard business hours.
