The Regional Maintenance and Operations Supervisor will oversee the operational and maintenance functions at energy production facilities managed by Carrier's clients. This role involves supervising both in-house operators and contracted maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between Carrier and client personnel, coordinating maintenance support from third-party contractors.
- Lead a team of rotating shift operators in the daily management of energy generation equipment and associated systems.
- Develop and maintain job plans for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that preventive maintenance is conducted according to manufacturer specifications and timelines.
- Identify and acquire necessary resources for maintenance activities, including parts and tools.
- Analyze operational logs and performance metrics to monitor equipment health and address potential issues proactively.
- Review maintenance reports from subcontractors, ensuring that recommendations are implemented and tracked.
- Manage warranty programs, ensuring timely claims and resolution of warranty-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of maintenance activities.
- Plan and execute maintenance outages efficiently, coordinating with clients and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular meetings to discuss work schedules and maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with various departments within Carrier, including Human Resources and Finance, as necessary.
- Generate meeting agendas and minutes, leading productive discussions.
- Perform site inspections and safety assessments during operational periods.
- Oversee inventory management for tools and critical spare parts.
- Manage financial responsibilities, including budget generation and variance analysis.
- Supervise the creation and management of work orders in the maintenance management system.
- Respond to urgent equipment failures outside of regular hours as needed.
- Provide ongoing training and support for operators and maintenance staff.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues to determine appropriate maintenance actions.
- Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies and annual plans.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by capturing best practices.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and corporate policies.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy generation and maintenance management.
- Experience with safety programs and compliance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
- Valid driver's license.
- Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced degree such as an MBA.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software.
- Strong communication skills and customer relations experience.
- Training on specific equipment and maintenance systems will be provided.
- This is a salaried position and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
