Chemistry Instructor

Germanna Community College is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach chemistry courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

• Teach chemistry courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and success.
• Use relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
• Maintain consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success.
• Embrace a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the specific discipline.
• Official transcripts required prior to final offer.
• Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems.
• Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment.
• Technology capability to teach remotely.
• Demonstrate competency and commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education.
• Complete Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching.

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching.
• Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
