As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in comprehensive forest management, overseeing planning, permitting, timber harvest, road construction, silviculture, client reporting, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forest Management: Lead silviculture and reforestation planning, managing contracts efficiently, and designing and securing permits for harvest unit layouts in a multifaceted regulatory landscape.
  • Project Management: Oversee road construction, maintenance, permitting, and contract administration, and collaborate in budget development and management.
  • GIS and Mapping: Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) for effective property management and operate within the Sustainable Forestry Initiative's objectives.
  • Client Reporting: Provide regular reporting to landowners and clients on forest management activities, progress, and results.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field, or Associate's Degree in Forestry with 2+ years of experience.
  • Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Word and Excel, and preferred experience with ArcGIS software.
  • Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, attention to detail, time management, and decision-making.

Work Environment: This role balances office work with remote field assignments, requiring off-road driving skills and extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions. Travel to properties across the country is required, potentially involving out-of-town and overnight stays (expenses covered).
