Job Summary
Coastal Lakes College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Support Teacher to join their team. As an Education Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a positive, caring, and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify curriculum to meet the individual needs of students
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans that support the whole child
- Work collaboratively with specialist teachers and education support staff to deliver individualized programs
- Provide a supportive environment that fosters student engagement and success
- Build and sustain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Requirements
- Excellent relationship skills and a passion for providing a positive learning environment
- Specialist knowledge and skills related to students with moderate to severe disability, including Intellectual Disability (ID), multiple physical disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Trauma
- Experience in supporting students with complex communication needs is highly desirable
- A Certificate 4 in Workplace Training & Assessment is desirable but not essential
- A working understanding of and commitment to Trauma-Informed Practice
