We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images.
Job Responsibilities:- Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
- Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
- Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
- Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
- Provide assistance to patients during procedures
- Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
- Must have 1 year of experience
- Must have BLS, NMT National certification from the AART or NMTCB, and state-specific licensing when required
- NMTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- NMTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
