Job Overview:
Charge coverage will be determined based on operational needs, and unit charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned with appropriate training and resources provided.
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Minimum Experience: 3+ Years Required
Unit Information:
The unit is a Medical Surgical department located adjacent to the Emergency Department. This unit accommodates patients held overnight for further evaluation as observation patients, functioning similarly to a clinical decision unit.
Patient Diagnoses:
Medical Surgical cases only, including COVID, abdominal pain, respiratory distress, and any symptom-based conditions requiring additional evaluation.
Effective immediately, the COVID vaccine is mandatory for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however, medical or religious exemptions will be honored with a doctor's note.
Job Requirements:
An in-state license and required certifications must be in hand prior to submission.
Skillset Requirements:
- Required: Med/Surg; Starting IVs, Nasal Cannula.
- Preferred: Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, previous charge experience.
Floating Requirements:
Yes
Schedule Information:
Every other weekend
Additional Details:
Local rate rule applies: $15 off the bill rate. ICU, PCU, and M/S Pediatric and Adult RNs residing in the state of Indiana are considered local and will be accepted at the local rate.
