Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Christiana Hospital. As a Registered Nurse II in the Post Anesthesia Care Surgical Observation Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to adult patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate clinical assessments of patients on admission and throughout their hospital stay, documenting all findings according to established standards.
  • Identify actual and potential problems for which the patient is at risk, and initiate a nursing plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis.
  • Assess and document patient response to interventions, and individualize guiding methods to best suit patient's and their family learning needs and abilities.
  • Coordinate medications safely and optimally, and respond optimally to patient crisis situations as outlined in unit-specific standards.
  • Initiate and participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions regarding patient care or practice, and demonstrate skills and knowledge vital to delivering care to patients 16 years of age and older.
Requirements
  • BSN Preferred, dedication to acquiring BSN within three years of the date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.
  • Qualified applicants MUST have at least two years of experience in med/surg.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Delaware
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required within 6 months of hire.
