Lead Data Engineer

Seneca Resources is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and driving standardization across our data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data engineers in the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and data management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data mining techniques, and segmentation strategies.
  • Design and implement data acquisition, transformation, and storage solutions using design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Optimize data pipeline performance and ensure data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or commensurate years of experience in software engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in data management, with 5+ years in data engineering.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing, data pipeline management tools, and big data technologies.
  • Strong technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, such as AWS cloud services.
