Nursing Lab Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The Clinical Nursing Assistant will provide critical support to the Nursing Skills Laboratory, working closely with the Lab Manager, Lab Staff, Nursing Faculty, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule make-up lab hours for nursing students absent from scheduled labs.
  • Track and follow up on open lab hours for nursing students according to their enrolled level of the nursing curriculum.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of campus laboratory for student skills demonstration, practice, and testing sessions.
  • Help maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and inventory.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree (or higher) in Nursing.
  • A Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Some experience in a Nursing-related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer competency, including Windows, Canvas, and internet applications like web-based training EHRs.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, it is desirable to have some experience and competencies related to the clinical nursing environment, as well as CPR certification.
