The Chief CT Technologist plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality imaging services within the department. This position involves obtaining comprehensive patient histories, elucidating standard procedures, and addressing any patient inquiries effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Generate computerized tomographic scanner images of designated areas in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Conduct ultrasound examinations, including abdominal and retroperitoneal scans, as well as assist in radiation therapy localization.
- Utilize experience and sound judgment to strategize and achieve departmental objectives.
- Perform a diverse range of tasks while operating under general supervision, requiring a degree of creativity and independent thought.
- Provide leadership and guidance to both licensed and unlicensed personnel, ensuring optimal patient care during assigned shifts.
This role encompasses the delegation and supervision of activities among caregivers and support staff. Responsibilities include:
- Staff scheduling and training.
- Oversight of equipment maintenance and monitoring.
- Review of radiation doses and CT quality assurance.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An associate's degree and completion of radiologic technology training.
- A.R.R.T. registration.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
- Experience with ACR accreditation is preferred.
