Clinical Pharmacists at Universal Health Services play a vital role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for filling orders for medications, monitoring patient drug therapies, and providing drug information. You will also supervise and direct supportive staff, and in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, you may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
- Fills orders for medications and monitors patient drug therapies
- Provides drug information and educates patients on medication use
- Supervises and directs supportive staff
- Assumes the essential responsibilities and performs the duties of the Director of Pharmacy in their absence
Qualifications:
- One year hospital experience required (new graduates considered)
- Two to three years hospital experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
- Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests
- Ability to manage a diverse workforce
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy
- Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
Education/Licensure:
- BS or Pharm. D. from a School of Pharmacy
- Current license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
- ASHP IV certification or successful completion of an ACPE/ASHP accredited program within 180 days of hire if not already certified
