Position Overview

As a Civil Engineering Project Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects concurrently. Your technical expertise will be vital in both internal and external meetings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting senior team members in performing foundational site design work on site plans and construction drawings, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, roadway, and utility layouts utilizing Civil 3D.
  • Conducting research on design criteria based on project scope and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Executing site design calculations and analyses in accordance with researched codes and regulations.
  • Providing comprehensive and precise documentation of calculations.
  • Comparing design alternatives and documenting findings to create detailed civil engineering studies and reports.
  • Reviewing technical and civil engineering drawing markups and implementing necessary revisions.
  • Applying civil engineering technology principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various projects.
  • Ensuring adherence to effective civil engineering methodologies according to industry standards.
  • Managing workload assignments for departmental co-op students.
  • Participating in internal and external client meetings.
  • Performing additional project-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Preferred: Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
