At Chewy Vet Care, we're revolutionizing the veterinary care experience from the ground up. Our mission is to create a culture and work environment where veterinary teams can thrive every day. We're seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our Healthcare Practice Team.

What You'll Do:
  • Empower the care team to deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures to deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Able to perform complex surgeries and provide care for complicated cases.
  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate a diagnosis of the pet's condition to the client, generating and presenting a treatment plan.
  • Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and nutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols.
  • Stay up to date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attending continuing education meetings.
  • Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and exceptional client service.
  • Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
  • Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants with escalations as needed.
  • Participate in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
  • Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
What You'll Need:
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent.
  • Active State license in good standing, DEA license, and other state credentials as required.
  • 2-3 years' experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained.
  • The ability to multi-task with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
  • Exemplary listening and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment.
  • Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
  • Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
  • Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
