Location: Fulton, MD

New employees will initially work onsite from Monday to Friday at our KBR offices to complete necessary training for this role. Following successful training, a hybrid work schedule will be implemented, consisting of two onsite days (Monday and Wednesday) and three remote workdays.

Training duration may vary based on individual roles, and periodic onsite training may necessitate temporary adjustments to the hybrid schedule.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for preparing bid packages, issuing solicitations, evaluating proposals, negotiating pricing and contractual terms, and managing purchase orders and blanket agreements for goods and services. This role requires collaboration with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure effective scheduling and movement of goods and supplies. Under general supervision, the specialist will perform tasks that necessitate experience and knowledge of standard concepts in the field. The role demands analytical skills to explore potential solutions using established procedures while developing advanced competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bid packages, issue solicitations, conduct bidder conferences, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate contractual terms, manage purchase orders, oversee supplier performance, and ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Facilitate risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal customer needs.
  • Address supplier-related challenges.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidates with 6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government procurement processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, contributing to a positive work environment through integrity, teamwork, and a constructive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with Costpoint and the Materials Management Module is advantageous.
