Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide speech therapy services to designated students, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to achieve speech therapy goals and improve overall speech functioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and develop individualized speech therapy programs for each student, working in partnership with educators and parents to achieve treatment plan goals.
  • Monitor student progress, providing regular updates to treatment teams and making necessary changes to service as needed.
  • Employ evidence-based speech therapy strategies and techniques to improve speech and communication skills, receptive and expressive language, cognition, and memory.
  • Write periodic reviews on student progress, updating treatment teams and making any necessary changes to service.
  • Manage case records according to agency policy and state regulations, familiarizing yourself with each child's record.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with families regarding scheduling sessions and make-up sessions.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
  • Current state speech language pathology (SLP) license or ability to obtain.
  • Prior experience working with students with diverse needs in an educational setting, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
  • Advanced motivational, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment with a strong sense of humor and a stellar work ethic.
