Avient is seeking a skilled Production Operator to join its team in Lewiston, Maine. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating extruder and blending equipment, ensuring the highest quality products are produced while meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Mix and blend materials to meet production requirements
- Setup and operate extruder, water bath, pelletizer, classifier, weighing, and packing equipment
- Select and implement proper feeds, speeds, and temperatures from material history and process orders
- Seal, stencil, and label containers of finished product and move to designated areas
- Run mixers and hoppers as assigned
- Transfer blended material into specified containers
- Use handling equipment to load machines and move finished material
- Monitor operation of blenders, feeders, and extruding equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Participate in company EHS programs and follow all safety rules
- Accurately maintain necessary logs, data, and reports
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with relevant experience and training
- 1+ years of related experience and/or training
- Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Computer knowledge and experience with blending equipment and twin-screw extruders
- SAP experience a plus
This role requires standing and sitting for extended periods, talking and listening, and occasional lifting, bending, and climbing. You will work in a manufacturing environment with a moderate noise level and may be exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
