Steam Plant Operations Specialist

Overview: As a valued member of the Northern Arizona Healthcare team, the Steam Plant Operations Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all utility systems within the hospital.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steam Plant Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing all utility systems, including boilers, chillers, pneumatic tube systems, and medical gas systems.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Maintain, operate, and repair all boilers and auxiliary equipment to produce steam for heat, sterilization, humidification, and domestic hot water.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all utility systems, including boilers, chillers, and pneumatic tube systems.
- Chemical Testing and Treatment: Perform chemical tests on all boilers, closed loops, condensate systems, condenser systems, feed waters systems, and pools, making adjustments as necessary.
- Utility System Operations: Operate and maintain all utility systems, including medical gas systems and pneumatic tube systems.
- Emergency Procedures: Perform emergency procedures to ensure continuous service of all utility systems in the event of a system failure.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Steam Plant Operation/Equivalent Trade School or Apprenticeship preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: Valid AZ Driver's License with no moving violations for the previous 39 months required; EPA Certification/Universal and Refrigerant Handling Certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a related field required.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
