We are seeking a skilled and charismatic Bar Service Professional to join our team at Hotel Sutter. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Drink Service: Take patron orders and deliver a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wine, beer, liquor, and mixed drinks.
- Bar Maintenance: Complete all restocking and cleaning duties, including opening and closing side work as instructed.
- Age Verification: Check customers' age by verifying identification cards and serve alcoholic beverages to patrons per federal, state, local, and company laws and regulations.
- Point of Sale Management: Ensure that all customer checks and tabs are paid, and record daily sales totals and enter them into the point of sale system.
- Inventory Management: Responsible for inventory, ordering, and stocking of all wine, liquor, and beer, and maintaining an inventory of glassware.
When business demands, bartenders are responsible for serving dining room tables, bar tables, and outdoor front sidewalk tables. This includes taking orders, making drinks, clearing dishes, and sanitizing tables.
Requirements- Experience: We prefer some experience working in the food service industry.
- Time Management and Organization: Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and other team members.
- Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent GED certification.
- Customer Service Focus: A strong focus on putting the patron first with exceptional customer service experience.
- Previous Bar Experience: 6 months or more of previous bar experience. Serving experience is a plus.
Hotel Sutter is a historical building located in the heart of downtown. We have a restaurant serving indoors, on our balcony, and out front on our Pallet Cafe. We have two bars, one located in our lobby and another downstairs known as our Copper Room. We also have a fully functioning 21-room hotel on our 2nd and 3rd floors. We pride ourselves in providing the best service with a smiling face to our many local guests as well as our year-round tourists.
