Position Overview

Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer, PE - EPC/EPCM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sizing and develop specifications for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Design solutions for material handling, conveyor systems, crushing and screening processes, dust collection, control systems, and piping layouts in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Engage in the preparation of capital cost estimates, including capacity calculations and quantity take-offs.
  • Develop designs from conceptual stages to final outputs, ensuring the feasibility of mechanical details through thorough calculations; utilize CAD and 3D modeling software (such as Revit or similar) to create precise construction drawings.
  • Prepare project flow sheets, conduct feasibility studies, and compile comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; possess strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with various disciplines, alongside robust organizational abilities to manage time and resources efficiently. Travel may be required. Experience in mining or minerals processing is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Autodesk's Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Inventor.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Belt Analyst, Bulk Flow Analyst, Aggflow, Pipeflow, and Caesar II is preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
  • Experience in minerals, cement, and/or lime industries.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
  • Strong background in materials handling.
  • Self-starter with leadership experience in project management.
