We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join our team at Great Oaks Charter School in Bridgeport. As a Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and teaching a comprehensive drama curriculum, directing school plays and dramatic performances, and instructing students in various acting techniques and theatrical styles.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach a drama curriculum that aligns with state and national standards
- Direct school plays and dramatic performances that showcase student talent and creativity
- Instruct students in various acting techniques and theatrical styles, including improvisation, script analysis, and character development
- Organize drama workshops and theater appreciation activities that promote student engagement and participation
- Collaborate with other departments to develop cross-curricular projects that integrate drama with other subjects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts, Drama Education, or related field
- Valid teaching certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong background in acting and directing, with experience in teaching drama to students
- Excellent communication and creativity skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students
