Job Summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper I to join our Environmental Services team. As a Housekeeper I, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning and building service work, including dusting, damp wiping, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Seven Basic Cleaning Steps and proper chemical use to meet department standards.
  • Practice proper methods of Infection Control in conjunction with cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain closet, housekeeping cart, and cleaning equipment in clean, orderly, and good working condition.
  • Adhere to departmental dress code and practices personal hygiene.
  • Meet or exceed department's standards of quality as evidenced by quality control inspections and customer feedback.
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend all required mandatory inservices.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team and demonstrate commitment to providing a quality environment for patient care.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service skills and communicate issues/concerns to Supervisor/Assistant Director as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Minimum physical requirements: weight requirement - must be able to lift 40 lbs. independently, must be able to see, stand on feet for 8 hours, hear, walk, talk, and care of oneself with little or no difficulty.
