Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at DCS Clinical in Wray, CO.

The salary for this position consists of a competitive base pay and a production bonus. Our full-time hygienists work 4 days a week, providing longer weekends and a great work-life balance.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Dental Hygienist with our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming and soothing each patient
  • Completing dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth to completion
  • Detecting disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, and using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession
  • Arresting dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents
  • Helping the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs, and oxygen supply, and a directory of emergency numbers
  • Educating patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, and providing reminders of their next dental hygiene visit
  • Documenting dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records
  • Ensuring operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Maintaining dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Colorado
  • New graduates welcome to apply
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email and contact management preferred)
  • Anesthesia and laser experience is a plus but not required
