Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated forklift operator for our operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in the safe and timely movement and loading of our steel products, while fostering strong customer relationships. Previous experience in loading steel is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize standard and heavy-duty forklifts, particularly Hyster models, to load building materials and components.
  • Ensure all items are accurately accounted for, properly marked, and staged for loading.
  • Efficiently load materials onto flatbed trailers.
  • Conduct inspections of all materials for any damage prior to loading.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the loading area.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks, demonstrating the ability to uphold safety protocols and standards consistently.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification or possess prior certification.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required, including different shifts.
  • Experience in loading steel is a must.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred experience operating heavy machinery beyond warehouse forklifts.
Education Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
