About the Role

Iridium is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director, System Architecture to lead our team of senior architects in defining, designing, and guiding our space and ground network solution.

As the Executive Director, System Architecture, you will be responsible for evolving our network architecture by incorporating best-of-breed industry solutions, technologies, and practices. You will also ensure that new programs and capabilities do not compromise the reliability, scalability, robustness, serviceability, and performance of our network.

We are looking for a motivated and talented individual who is ready to rise to the next level in their career and take on a leadership role in our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of senior architects who define, design, and guide Iridium's space and ground network solution
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve our network architecture
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the ongoing technical integrity of our networks
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align our network architecture with business goals and objectives
  • Provide technical support to Marketing and Lines of Business (LOBs)

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in satellite or terrestrial networks and telecommunications industries
  • 10+ years' experience working in technical development leadership roles, ideally at the solution level
  • Demonstrated technical depth and breadth in wireless networks
  • Strong technical experience in satellite, radio, and communications development with demonstrated track record of achieving deliverables
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting and conducting presentations to executive management
