EmPATH Nurse Role Summary

Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? Do you want to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilize your nursing skills to help individuals in crisis? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EmPATH Nurse to join our team at the Helen Ross McNabb Center.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a crisis intervention setting, providing short-term treatment to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. As an EmPATH Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct medical care to clients, conducting initial assessments, and completing required paperwork. You will also work closely with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct medical care to clients, including administering medications and conducting vital sign checks.
  • Conduct initial assessments and complete required paperwork, including nursing notes and admission orders.
  • Work closely with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in daily treatment team meetings and shift reports.
  • Coordinate transitions with other staff members and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all staff.

Requirements:

  • RN or LPN with current Tennessee license and experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • BSN or ANA certification as Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnoses, treatment modalities, and interventions.
  • Experience working with special populations, including individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and Co-Occurring Disorders.
