Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at MUSC Health Charleston. This role focuses on providing exceptional care in a specialized environment.

Certification Requirements

Unit Information

The ART prep and recovery unit is a Short Stay Post-Procedural Observation Unit dedicated to patients undergoing interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures. The unit consists of:

  • 8 beds
  • Collaboration with one additional RN and a Health Technician (HVT)
Job Details
  • Position: Post Procedure Observation RN
  • Shift: 3x12s, 7 PM - 7 AM (minimum of 2 Friday nights within a 4-week schedule)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4 based on census fluctuations
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 2 Friday nights in a 4-week period; no Saturday or Sunday nights
  • Unit Hours: Monday 7:30 AM – Saturday 8:00 PM
  • No Call Required
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
Job Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience required
  • Skills: Epic experience preferred
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Licensure: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License required
Schedule Information
  • Minimum of 2 Friday nights in a 4-week schedule
  • No Saturday or Sunday nights
Unit Specific Information

The ART prep and recovery unit is designed for a specialized patient population in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.

  • Block Schedule Accommodation: Yes
  • Local Candidates: Considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
  • Local Radius: 60 miles
  • RTO: All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • Emergency Response: Travelers should be aware of potential assignments to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June - November)
